Peter Gorges is Founder of UJAM, a german-based startup that aims to democratize music making and scored an amazing success and reception at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York in May 2010. Gorges started his career in 1985 as a professional musician, sound designer and and author of books and articles on music technology. He founded his first company Wizoo in 1997, later joined by Steinberg founder Manfred Ruerup and oscar-awarded film composer Hans Zimmer. With a solid reputation as a visionary and pioneering entrepreneur in the world of synthesizers, music software and virtual instruments, he sold his company to world-leading audio solutions manufacturer Digidesign in 2005, joining Digidesign in a director role. In 2009 he left in order rejoin forces with Hans Zimmer and grammy-awarded producer/performer Pharrell Williams, to found a venture that eventually became UJAM. Aside from being a co-investor in UJAM, he - with congenial music software pioneer Paul Kellett - invents and innovates on the musical and technological concept that enables non-musicians to professional musicians to create professional sounding music, utilizing next-generation music and web technology.
