Kostas Mallios is Vice President at Intellectual Ventures. Mr. Mallios believes in the power of ideas and the individual's ability to make a difference. In addition, he is designing new IP-based business models that will build a series of new companies based on disruptive technologies. Prior to joining IV, Mr. Mallios spent 15 years at Microsoft Corporation in a variety of executive roles, most recently as General Manager of Strategy and Business Development where he blended emerging technologies and business models to launch new technologies in the market. He also led the Rich Media Group and Labs as General Manager, building transformative media experiences across Microsoft product lines. As Director of Venture Integration, he drove business strategy for 23 deals totaling more than $3.7B and co-authored Microsoft’s mergers and acquisition playbook. Prior to his M&A work, Mr. Mallios was Director in the Enterprise Program Management group, which helped build and execute Microsoft’s enterprise market entry. He has held senior positions in the publishing, consulting, and service industries prior to Microsoft. Most memorably, he spent several years professionally photographing and interviewing top musicians. Mr. Mallios graduated from Siena College with a B.S. in Marketing Management and received his M.B.A. in Management and Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
