Frank Meehan is the Founder and CEO of Kuato Studios, a group of creatives, designers, AI specialists, developers and educators focused on becoming the Pixar of Education. Kuato Studios was formed in early 2012 and is based in London and Palo Alto, developing a range of graphically rich, deeply engaging products around a new intelligent Virtual Learning Companion (VLC) together with SRI (founders of Siri) Frank is also part of the Horizons Ventures VC team, based in London, San Francisco and Hong Kong. Horizons is the private investment arm of Mr Li Ka-Shing. Frank was on the board of SIRI (prior to Apple sale) and Spotify, and is currently on the boards of Bitcasa, Fixmo, Summly, Desti, Tom.com, Affectiva, DoubleTwist and Ginger Software. He also recently led on behalf of Horizons investments into Preen.me, HowDo and Invi. Previously Frank founded and was the CEO of INQ Mobile, part of the Hutchison Whampoa Group, which won best handset at the premier mobile event - the Mobile World Congress - with the innovative INQ1 in Barcelona 2009. Prior to that the INQ team won best runner up with the 3 Skypephone which was developed in a far sighted partnership with Skype and Qualcomm. From 2001 Frank worked for Hutchison Whampoa in many capacities since 2001, and prior to that worked for Ericsson in Sweden, Singapore and Hong Kong. He originally started as a coder and troubleshooter in Stockholm. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Sydney University, Australia and a Masters in Science from the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, Sweden.
