Nassim N. Taleb
Nassim N. Taleb is combination of a literary essayist, scholar of risk and randomness, writer of philosophical tales, and derivatives trader.
He is known for a multidisciplinary approach to the role of the high- impact rare event -across psychology, economics, philosophy, finance, engineering, and history. He is also known for putting his ideas in practice with his "Black Swan" investment strategy.
Taleb is, among other books and research papers, the author of the NYT Bestseller The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable. His books have more than 2 million copies in print. His work has been translated into 28 languages.
Although he describes himself as "flaneur" (meditating in cafés), Taleb has the academic title of Distinguished Professor in Risk Engineering at New York University engineering department. He has an MBA from Wharton and a PhD from the University of Paris.
