Christian Elger

Prof. Dr. Christian Elger is the Director of the Department of Epileptology at the University of Bonn.

Born in Augsburg, his academic career led him from Münster, Memphis, and Zurich to Bonn. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) at the Royal College of Physicians, London and the Associate Editor of "Epilepsy and Behavior". He is founder, shareholder and scientific director of the Life & Brain GmbH, Bonn.

He holds numerous awards including the Zuelch Price of the Gertrud Reemtsma-Stiftung of the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (2005) and the Hans Berger Award of DGKN (2010) for achievements in the field of epilepsy research.
