Arend Oetker

Dr. Oetker was born on March 30, 1939. He is married and has five children. After studying Business Administration and Political Sciences at the Universities of Hamburg, Berlin and Cologne from 1962 - 1966 and Marketing at the Harvard Business School in 1966, he earned his doctoral degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne in 1967.

Dr. Arend Oetker's is the Chairman of the Advisory Board as well as the majority shareholder of HERO, Lenzburg (Switzerland). He holds diverse investments in areas such as trade, education, agricultural seed production and ferry shipping.

Dr. Oetker is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany, Chairman of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and Vice-Chairman of the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
