René Obermann

The Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Telekom since November 2006 began his career with a business traineeship at BMW in Munich, followed by his own successful business ABC Telekom (later Hutchison Mobilfunk GmbH) in Münster in 1986.

Ever since, he managed to get to the very top of the company in Bonn via its mobile section.

Between 2002 and 2006, the 48-year-old  was CEO of T-Mobile International and the Deutsche Telekom Board Member for Mobile Communications. In this period, T-Mobile continued its growth course as one of the leading mobile operators in the world with more than 100 million customers, successfully introducing the T-Mobile brand in eleven countries.

Since 2010, he is married to the German TV host Maybrit Illner.
