Linda Stone

Widely recognized as a visionary thinker and thought leader, Linda Stone is a writer, speaker and advisor focused on attention, technology, health, trends and their strategic implications.  Articles on her work have appeared in the New York Times, Newsweek, The Economist, Boston Globe, Harvard Business Review, and hundreds of blogs.  Stone has coined a few phrases, including:  continuous partial attention, email apnea, and conscious computing.  

Stone also consults to Fortune 500 companies, specializing in organizing and convening small, interdisciplinary groups that activate innovation and transformation.  She spent close to twenty years as a senior executive in high technology, at both Apple and Microsoft.  She pioneered multimedia at Apple, then worked for CEO, John Sculley.  She pioneered social computing at Microsoft, then worked for CEO, Steve Ballmer.  

Stone co-founded and co-organized TEDxMidwest and provides programming support for the Aspen Ideas Festival.  Stone serves on a number of advisory boards,  including the TED BrainTrust, Jillslist.com, Orchestra.com, and a few others.  She occasionally blogs for O'Reilly Radar and the Huffington Post, and posts to http://lindastone.net.
