Lars-Hendrik Röller
Lars-Hendrik Röller is President of the ESMT European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, since September 2006.
His career began at the Department of Economics at University of Pennsylvania where he also held a position at the Institute for Law and Economics. 1987 he was appointed professor at the business school INSEAD in France.
1994 he became Director of the research unit "Competitiveness and Industrial Change" at the Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (WZB), Europe's largest social science research center. In 1995 he was appointed Professor for Industrial Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
From September 2003 until taking up the presidency at ESMT, Lars-Hendrik Röller was the first Chief Competition Economist of the European Commission, where he was responsible for the economic analysis in merger control, cartel investigations, market abuse and state aid control.
