Christoph Franz

Christoph Franz is Chairman of the Executive Board & CEO Deutsche Lufthansa AG since January 2011. After studying and earning a doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) Christoph Franz joined Lufthansa in 1990. In 1994 Franz moved to Deutsche Bahn AG, where he held various executive functions over the next nine years, lastly as a Member of the Executive Board and CEO of the company’s passenger transport division. In 2004, he was appointed CEO of Swiss International Air Lines AG. In 2009 Franz then joined the Executive Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG as CEO of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines and as deputy to the Group Executive Board Chairman & CEO.
