Pae White

Pae White (born 1963, Pasadena, California) lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her M.F.A. from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. White's work often crosses the border between Arts and Design.

For the DLD Arts Projects the artist was thinking of social network structures. Her intervention "Some Network" (2007) playfully reacts to the conference's given space and DLD´s corporate Identity. In reserving the backside of the conference badges for her artwork, White was thinking of networks and larger sustainable digital communities as enclosures or intimacies inside of social networks. A large billboard structure creates a counterpoint to the badge design. White broke this overall image down into individual, unique pieces in a way, that they can always fit into a larger image, like "a soft form inside of an enclave, inside of a larger community" (Pae White, 2007).
