Judy Castro
Judy is an artist and designer working in soft products, textiles, and electronics. She is a seamstress by family trade, and is experimenting with textile sensors as a way to integrate technology into fashion.
Judy has worked with several artist collaboratives, co-designing and fabricating large scale fire and metal sculptures for Burning Man that have been installed at various sites around the world. She has developed projects for Make magazine, and is a co-founder of Teach Me To Make, an educational organization providing hands-on art and technology workshops. Art and Technology in the San Francisco Bay Area is a unique blend of creative energy, individuals, groups, and cultures influencing innovation in areas such as art installations, digital media, and sustainable energy.
Bringing together artists, scientists, and technologists, the Burning Man art festival nurtures art, beauty and conceptual freedom, giving us the room to experiment in areas where art and technology have no boundaries.
