Ed Fornieles
Ed Fornieles was born in 1983. He lives and works in London.
He studied at The School of Drawing and Fine Art 2001 to 2005 followed by The Royal College of Art from 2009 to 2011.
Fornieles created Dorm Daze a performance conducted on Facebook over three months. A network of 30 people who inhabited profiles ‘scalped’ from real-life American college students. Participants developed characters and plotlines by interacting with each other and with direction from the artist.
The content generated from the relationships in Dorm Daze has then fed into sculptural, installation and film work, and culminated in a show The Hangover Part II at Carlos Ishikawa, London.
Other works include Animal House a
performance involving more than 120 people, that emulated an American college
party and Voices of America that uses hijacked twitter feeds to generate a live
living work.
