Plastiki almost on the move

Over the past years we have always kept you posted on interesting projects of members of the DLD Community. As we have told you here and here David de Rothschild, founder of Adventure Ecology, has been involved in a spectacular new project, featuring a ship made entirely out of plastic bottles. News have reached the DLD Team that David's ship, Plastiki, was put to water a couple of days ago. With the project advancing so quickly it will only be a little longer until our DLD friend David will begin his journey from San Francisco to Sydney.

Plastiki will have the latest technical equipment on board, in order to let the world be able to participate interactively at this unique project. David wants to raise awareness about the environment and sustainability. We from DLD keep our fingers crossed for David and a safe journey, so that he can hopefully tell us about his adventurous experiences soon.
