Nonsphere installation by Luis Berrios Negrón
American artist Luis Rafael Berrios Negrón just created a new prototype of his so called 'Nonspheres'-Installation for the trendy design-boutique Joyce in Hong Kong. His recent project 'Nonsphere' is a reference to the Nonsphere-concept of the Soviet naturalist Vernadsky who located human creativity as much as part of what is natural, just as the wind and the sea. "Nonspheres is a revision of Vernadsky´s work, within the context of the contemporary, questioning minimalism, reductionism, and the commodification of ideas into ideologies", says Negrón who is also a friend of the global DLD arts community. Negrón who lives and works in Berlin is part of a new generation of artists who base their works on a commitment to social critique. His work identifies and produces cultural intersections between technology, geopolitics and art. Negrón is interested into creating compound experiences that reflect economies of creativity and materiality considering the advent of mass customization.
