Hi-Fly Orchestra presents Mambo Atomico
Author: Bernd Hölzner
The great sound of the 60's jazz, latin and samba -- the Hi-Fly Orchestra, founded in 2005 by our DLD jazzers and friends Florian Riedl and Jerker Kluge, just released their new album named Mambo Atomico. The heavy and rough rhythms are played by drums, double-bass, congas and piano, supporting horn-lines by sax and trombone. The tunes have been recorded live on a 16-track tape machine, delivering an authentic and original sound. Asks BBC's Gilles Peterson: "Is this a new recording or something you found from the dusty crates?". The album's got great reviews -- if you're curious listening click here.
