Hèctor Parra's & Lisa Randall's opera premiered in Paris

Author: Artur Schmidt

DLD speakers, Spanish composer Hèctor Parra and Harvard physicist Lisa Randall, collaborated on an opera project together. The outcome which is called "Hypermusic Prologue - a projective opera in seven planes" premiered at the Centre Pompidou in Paris last month.
Lisa Randall was asked by Hèctor Parra to write a libretto for this unique project. The idea behind was to base the opera on Randall's work "Warped Passages: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Universe's Hidden Dimensions". This new style opera is combining the worlds of science and music together and makes current concepts in theoretical physics understandable to broader audiences. Another DLD friend, Matthew Ritchie, was responsible for designing the sets and a series of video projections.
