AI & Ethics

In the coming age of automation complicated choices – including life and death decisions – will increasingly be made by machines rather than people. Who should determine the value systems for artificial intelligence software? Can we program machines to behave in ways people feel fairly reflect their ethics, much as we allow elected government officials to represent us? Will differences in value systems need to be taken into account when coding ethics into robots or automated cars destined for different countries?
