Eric Rodenbeck

Eric Rodenbeck is Stamen's founder & creative director. A 14-year veteran of the interactive design field, he has worked to extend the boundaries of online media and live information visualization.

Eric led the interactive storytelling & data-driven narrative effort at Quokka Sports, illustrated & designed at Wired Magazine & Wired Books, and co-founded design collective Umwow. He has presented at Yale, Columbia, the University of Southern California, O'Reilly technology conferences, Esther Dyson's PC Forum, OFFF, Lift, and SXSW, among others.Eric was born in New York City and studied architecture at Cooper Union and received a B.A. in History & Philosophy of Technology from The New School for Social Research. He put himself through school by managing farmers' markets, drafting architectural ornaments in the stoneyard at Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and working summers for Kenneth Snelson. In 2008 he was one of Esquire Magazine's "Best and Brightest" and one of ID Magazine's top 40 designers to watch.
