Lady Gaga - the new queen of extravagance and pop

This January Lady Gaga was our special act at the DLD star night in Munich. Now, not even five months later she appears on the front cover of "The Rolling Stone".

Lady Gaga's rise to one of the most successful, influential and famous musician world wide hit off with her first single "Just Dance", released in mid 2008. It was a number one hit in seven countries, including the USA, and was nominated for the Grammy 2009 in the category "Best Dance Recording". This newly interpreted pop music filled with fun and extravagance earned Lady Gaga three times platin, seven times gold, and over seven million sold CDs.

Keeping up with the success, Lady Gaga shortly afterwards released her second number one single called "Poker Face". Not only did it become number one in nearly 20 countries but it was also the second consecutive number one in the "Billboard Hot 100" in April 2009. It was one of the most successful singles in this decade. Again, the single "Poker Face" earned three times platin, six times gold, and sold over six million CDs worldwide. Her Debut Album "The Fame" sold about 2,3 million times and was at the top end of the charts worldwide.

In 2009, Lady Gaga also appeared on stage at the BRIT Awards along with the Brandon Flowers and the Pet Shop Boys, contributed to the Soundtrack of the movie "Confessions of a Shoppaholic", was featured in the "BBC Sound of 2009" which honours the best rising stars, and supported the Pussycat Dolls in their Europe tour in Spring 2009.

Nevertheless... the story does not end there... by now Lady Gaga became a trend setter and stars like Paris Hilton, Nicole Scherzinger, and many internationally well known designers copy her extravagant style which she designs herself.

We are glad that Lady Gaga, together with Yahoo Music, came to Munich to perform for us in January 2009.
