Deborah Berebichez

Deborah Berebichez is a physicist, financial analyst, actress and entrepreneur whose work focuses on the interaction between science, art and education. The founder of the media project "The Science of Everyday Life" and thesciencebabe.com, her mission is to make science accessible to as many women as possible and to encourage young people to learn about science through fun topics that mix entertainment with the science behind daily activities. Deborah was born and raised in Mexico City and currently lives in New York. She is the first Mexican woman to obtain a Ph.D. in physics from Stanford University, after which she pursued postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University and New York University's Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences. She holds additional degrees in philosophy and theater. Deborah was a keynote speaker at the 2007 Oprah Magazine Leadership Conference and has appeared in Oprah magazine, in CNN Spanish and on numerous international radio and television programs. She also currently works as a senior risk analyst in Wall Street.
