Aenne Burda Award bestowed on Esther Dyson

Internet entrepreneur, web pioneer and dear DLD friend Esther Dyson has been honored with the "Aenne Burda Award for Creative Leadership" by publisher Dr. Hubert Burda at the first day of DLD09 in Munich. The award is presented to women in the media who successfully implement their extraordinary visions. Dyson perfectly represents the DLD spirit: Her goal is not to forecast developments and to take maximum advantage, but to shape the future by analyzing, investing in and founding Internet start-ups. She has recently complemented her portfolio by space travel and genetics.

Dyson is currently undergoing cosmonaut training at Star City, Russia, which will enable her to stand in for Charles Simonyi, the inventor of Microsoft Word, and fly to the international space station ISS. She documents her adventures both on Flickr and the Huffington Post. Today, she talked to news site Informilo - a new venture founded by Jennifer Schenker and launched at DLD - about why this is a great time to start a business, her investments in Russia, personalized medicine and space technology - read the whole piece here. Nicole Simon, one of four embedded DLD bloggers covered the award ceremony as well.

The Aenne Burda Award pays homage to the late Aenne Burda who passed away in November 2005. The visionary entrepreneur remains one of the leading symbols of post-war Germany. From 1949, she set about turning a small publishing house into the world's largest fashion publisher. In 1987, during the Cold War, she crossed the Iron Curtain with her flagship publication BURDA MODEMAGAZIN and expanded to Russia. Her sewing patterns have since gone digital: the online community BurdaStyle.com provides users with a platform to share copyrights for designs and sewing patterns.

Esther,

Congratulations on your graduation into the weightless state. As a former unlimited aerobatic competitor, I have experienced brief periods of that state and enjoyed them all.

I was at Flight School 2007 as VP of Flight Operations and Training of Eclipse Aviation. I'm sorry 2008 was canceled. Is there to be a 2009, or will you be in orbit?

I very much enjoyed the recent NY Times magazine feature about your father. I envy your growing up in such an e

my comment was sent prior to completion. Such is the problem with a touch pad on a portable computer.

Will there be a Flight School 2009? Aspen was great. Would Walter Isacson allow us to return?

I would love to come. Now doing consulting and trying to help the many owners of Eclipse aircraft, now orphaned by the chapter 7 status.

Have you seen the NM spaceport? It is a beautiful site. Will you be at Oshokosh 2009? I'm looking forward to seeing the Virgin mothership and spacecraft.

Best regards,

Don Taylor

We were married for 36 years without a child. And Recently, My Doctor told me that I would not last for the next six months due to my cancer problem (cancer of the lever and stroke). When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum Of $12.5.Million in one of the finance firm here in Abidjan capital of Cote d'Ivoire for safe keeping.

Presently this money is still in the Vault of the finance firm.Having known my condition I decided to hand over this money to an individual,Brother or sister that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein.

I want that you use this money according to the desire of my late.husband to help the Less privilaged, orphanages, and propagating the word of Allah.
