WEF Technology Pioneers 2009

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has announced 34 visionary companies selected as Technology Pioneers 2009 for their ability as innovators and whose technologies will have a deep influence on business and society.
Among the nominees is DLD Speaker Robert Kalin, founder of Etsy Inc., an online marketplace for everyone to buy and sell handmade goods, all over the world. Etsy's mission is to enable people to make their living making things. Also nominated are Max Levchin, founder of Slide Inc., the world's largest publisher of social entertainment applications and Jeremy Allaire, founder of Brightcove Inc., an online video platform that empowers video producers and programmers to build broadband businesses. I think that is great news that even with the financial climates as they are people are still able to be creative and have the financial means to take their designs forward to creation. Great news.
