Frank Briegmann

Frank Briegmann, President & CEO Universal Music Germany, began his career in the music industry at BMG in 1995 after studying business. After early work for BMG in the field of strategy, he switched in 1997 to the post of Manager to BMG Special Marketing Europe, where he was responsible, among other things, for developing BMG's first European marketing unit.
He took on the commercial direction of the Ariola label in Munich in 1998, rising to deputy Managing Director in 2000 with a focus on the areas of International Marketing, Partnership Marketing and Promotion. 2002 saw him appointed Senior Vice President International of BMG Germany and answerable for the establishment and marketing of all artists on the international labels of BMG in Germany. In mid-2004 he announced his move from Bavaria to Universal Music in Berlin.
He is a member of the board of the German Music Industry Association, of the German Phono Academy, and of media.net berlinbrandenburg and is an advisory board member for the bachelor degree course "Music and Media" at the Research Centre for Popular Music at Berlin's Humboldt University.
