Chauncey Shey

Chauncey Shey has been the founder of SBCVC (SB China Venture Capital) and Managing Partner since the year 2000. SBCVC is a leading venture capital firm in China and manages multiple funds with broad LP base. SBCVC promotes Silicon Valley-like entrepreneurship in China. Its portfolio includes companies, such as, Focus Media (Nasdaq FMCN) and Alibaba. Mr. Shey has received numerous recognitions for his work in VC investment, including "Top 10 Active Venture Capitalist in China."

Mr. Shey is a co-founder and director of UTStarcom, Inc (NASDA: UTSI) and served as UTStarcom's Executive Vice-President from 1995 until July 1999.

Mr. Shey would like to bring to DLD his deep, first-hand experience, including his involvement with Alibaba IPO, as well as UT Starcom. He is greatly looking forward to the conversation on-stage about "Digital China" with his friend Andreas Weigend and to the informal exchange of ideas with interested DLD delegates.
