Lift08 Conference, Geneva, Feb 08

I had the honour to be invited to the LIFT conference in Geneva on the 8th of February 2008 organized by my friend, member of the European conference Alliance and LIFT founder Laurent Haug. It was my first LIFT conference ever because due to the very short time period after DLD, I was not able to visit before. The format, topics and attendees were different to DLD and gave a lot of new and inspirering perspectives.

The concept of LIFT is to explore the social implications of technologies in our society in a unique and tested format maximizing creativity and networking - all very casual and familiar - even close to 700 people were attending the conference. Two of my favourite talks were by EA's Robin Hunicke on trends in gaming practices and by CERN's Francois Grey on volunteer computing and volunteer thinking. I hope to be able to take part in the whole conference next year - just one day was definitely to short.

For more detailled thoughts on LIFT08 please check Bruno Giussani's weblog.

AND! I am a real fan of the LIFT conference visual!!!
