How can people keep their mobile lifestyle without polluting the environment? How can trade and transport be made as environment-friendly as possible and which new technologies are there? Speaker Shai Agassi is the founder and CEO of "Better PLC", a new infrastructure creator and operator for the management of country-wide electric vehicle fleets.

Shai Agassi is driven by the idea to make the world a better place, especially environmentally. His aim is the year 2020.

Half of the oil worldwide is used to fuel cars. Nonetheless, eighty percent of that energy produced from oil is lost. Moreover, no driver wants to share his precious car - no one will ever do without his car. He himself already drives two hydrogen Hummers.

In the long term, gasoline will be less affordable than the cars themselves. Agassi's proposed solution is a next-generation electric vehicle. This car would charge itself when it is parked, at plugs which are installed at every parking lot.

Another idea is to isolate the battery from the car: When the battery is empty, the driver can easily swap it for a new one. This would work like a pre-paid-card for mobiles.

The project will go live in Israel first.

If it is a success, "we can be without oil, before oil becomes out of us", he says.
