We are very proud to have French filmmaker and director Luc Besson speaking at DLD07. Luc is the creator of such influental movies as "The Big Blue", "Leon", "Nikita" and "The Fifth Element", which has been nominated for an Oscar as well as earned him his first César award as best director. His most recent work, the computer-animated fantasy flick "Arthur and the Invisibles" is one of the largest 3D animation productions ever done in Europe and will hit US theaters on January 12th, starting on 25th in Germany. English synchronisation features the voices of famous actors and musicians such as Robert de Niro, Madonna, David Bowie and Snoop Dogg. In the German language version Bill Kaulitz, singer of Tokyo Hotel, synchronizes the main character and young hero Arthur, with Nena giving her voice to princess Selinia who fells in love with Arthur during their adventurous journey.

The production of the animation sequences alone involved 27 months work for a team of 250 specially hired animators. We are already looking forward to hear more from Luc on this project and the future of digital movie production in Europe.
