Olafur Eliasson
Olafur Eliasson was born in Copenhagen in 1967. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and moved to Germany in 1993. In 1995 he established Studio Olafur Eliasson in Berlin which today functions as a laboratory for spatial and temporal matters. In 2003 he represented Denmark at the 50th Venice Biennial and later that year installed The weather project in the turbine hall of Tate Modern, London, which attracted more than 2 million visitors.
Recent exhibitions include Hara Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, Lenbachhaus in Munich as well as Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg. Currently Eliasson is preparing a show for The Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, opening in September 2007, which will travel to The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
