Beth Comstock
Beth Comstock was named President, NBC Universal Digital Media and Market Development in December 2005. Comstock drives NBC Universal's emerging digital business, including the iVillage Properties which was acquired by NBC Universal in May 2006. Comstock is also charged with leading digital content and distribution strategy across the company. In addition, she oversees NBCU's marketing, promotion, research and communications teams.
Comstock has been a GE company officer since 1998, at which time she was named GE's vice president of Corporate Communications. Previously, Comstock served as senior vice president of Communications at NBC, and as vice president of NBC News Communications.
Before that, she held a succession of publicity and promotion positions at NBC, Turner Broadcasting and CBS Entertainment, beginning in 1986. She started her career for a television news service and in local cable programming in Virginia.
Comstock serves as a Trustee of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. She received a 2006 Matrix Award from New York Women in Communications, and a 2005 Aiming High Award from Legal Momentum. Business Week named her an innovation "transformer," and she has been named "Marketing Executive of the Year" by BtoB Magazine and "PR Professional of the Year" by PR Week.
A native of Virginia, Comstock is a graduate of the College of William and Mary. She and her husband have two daughters.
