Loic video-podcasting Nicolas Sarkozy

Loic_Sarkozy.jpg Our dear friend and DLD 06 council member Loic le Meur, recently named "chief blogger" by the World Economic Forum, did a video podcast with Nicolas Sarkozy, France Minister of Interior and future candidate for the French Presidential elections 2007 talking about the Web, blogs and Sarkozy's way of doing politics. Interesting to see how blogs are more and more becoming a media platform for politicians adressing the blogosphere, and providing an opportunity to recast themselves away from mainstream media like television. Congrats, Loic.

Update 01/06/2006:
Business Week covered Nicolas Sarkozy's pitching to be France's next President in the podcast interview. According to BW, the Dec 22 interview has attracted more than 50.000 views on Loic's Blog with Hundreds of viewers posting messages. Loic comments on his intent regarding the podcast by trying to be as objective as possible: "I didn't want to be confrotational. I did this mainly for my own enjoyment and to learn myself". In the interview, Sarkozy defended his handling of the recent rioting in the suburbs of Paris.

Monsieur Sarkozy has everything to be proud of. Remember the Paris riots... there hasn't been any deaths. Imagine how the US, or other countries would have handle a similar situation.
