Les Blogs 2.0 in Paris
Close to 400 bloggers from 30 countries joined the 2nd Les Blogs in Paris from 5-6 Dec. Just an amazing and buzzing atmosphere, interesting people and topics.
Bob Scoble and Shel Israel gave a short introduction about the efficiency of word of mouth networks and creating customer evangelists with weblogs. Their advise for corporate bloggerss: join the conversations in the blogosphere. On the panel on citizen journalism was Rebecca MacKinnon, stating journalists were kept honest and blogs becoming true citizen media. On the other side, there would always be a need for quality journalism: broadcasting (media) vs. ego-casting?
One hot trend of the conference was videoblogging and sharing as well as subscription content. This way, RSS could be the one piece that connects all the social media together. In the near future, all information would be delivered to us inside of windows, and mobile phones. Information is becoming more and more localized and individualized (I-RSS), with the individual person becoming even more important. Or as David Sifry from Technorati puts it: "In next 10 years the whole idea of the consumer economy will shift and we'll be calling it a participant economy".
A special thanks goes to Loic and his team for placing Digital Lifestyle Day DLD06 banners in the crowded plenum (see above)! He also linked a summary of the whole conference by Mark Lloyd. Nicole Simon has a very nice conference podcast - to listen click right here.
