Oliver Samwer
Oliver Samwer, founder of Jamba! GmbH
Born in 1972 Oliver Samwer completed Business Administration Studies at the WHU School of Business, graduating with the title Diplom-Kaufmann. In 1996 he was a second-year MBA programme exchange student at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and also attended the Universidad Adolfo Ibanez in Chile. During his studies he worked for McKinsey & Company. In 1998 Oliver began a survey of 100 high-tech startup companies in Silicon Valley and Massachusetts on the subject of how to successfully establish and build an enterprise. Oliver's survey was widely acclaimed and on publication became a bestseller.
In January 1999 he founded alando.de, Germany's market leader for online auctions. Following the successful sale of alando.de to eBay Oliver became managing director of eBay Europe. Together with his brothers he transformed eBay Germany into the world's most profitable international eBay site. He set up Jamba GmbH in August 2000. Jamba GmbH is the world's leading provider of digital entertainment services.
Jamba! develops, markets and provides digital content and services. The wide range of products includes music, graphics, games and information services, all available directly on mobile devices via SMS text messages, WAP or the internet. Jamba! services are available in 28 countries.
