Andrew Robertson

We are glad to welcome Andrew Robertson, President & Chief Executive Officer of BBDO Worldwide, as speaker at the DLD 06.


Mr. Robertson, 43, was the youngest CEO ever at BBDO when he took the reins on June 1, 2004. He has been with BBDO Worldwide since 1995, serving as CEO of Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, in London. In 2001, he joined BBDO North America as President, CEO and was elected to the Worldwide Board of Directors. In 2002, he was named to the additional post of President, BBDO Worldwide. He has also previously worked at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and J. Walter Thompson Co., both now part of WPP Group.

1.) to confuse "message" with "content" (i. e. content of a message) is often used for mcluhan-bashing by people from outside the communication business - it should not happen here without objection.

2.) omnicom's core business has long become campaign planning and media buying - apart from some entertaining examples, i can't see a content-driven advertising industry evolving.
